Validation of the competences for the 21st-century skill scale in higher education students

In a global society, the importance of knowledge and assessment transversal competences emerges to cope with challenges contemporary from perspective development lifelong learning. Therefore, it is priority use tools adapted different cultures. The main objective this study validate instrument ‘Multidimensional 21st Century Skills Scale’ for Portuguese population. sample was composed 413 participants both genders, mean age 24.30 years (standard deviation = 8.69), aged between 18 64 years, attending Higher Vocational Education. translation back-translation were carried out by experts (researchers university professors in areas psychology, management, entrepreneurship). final version scale 30 items exploratory analysis identified three dimensions: Knowledge Entrepreneurial Skills, Career Awareness Innovation, Critical Thinking Problem Solving. These factors validated confirmatory analysis. authors suggest that difference found relation original related cultural reasons, range respondents, as well their academic level.
